Caring for your Sling or Pouch
How do I care for my cotton sling or pouch?
- Machine wash cold, with like colors. Dark colors may bleed.
- With front loading washers, put socks over the rings to protect your washer.
- No chlorine bleach. Do not use Dreft.
- Line dry.
- Sling may shrink and dark colors may fade if machine dried.
How do I care for my silk sling?
- For best results, dry clean. Silks will lose some sheen but gain softness when machine washed.
- May be washed by hand or machine wash cold, delicate cycle. Sky butterfly is dry clean only.
- Wash with like colors. Dark colors may bleed.
- Wash with Woolite or gentle shampoo. Do not use Dreft. No bleach.
- With front loading washers, put socks over the rings to protect your washer.
- Line dry. Do not dry in the dryer.
- If a silk sling is washed in water, the brocade will shrink more than the dupioni, and the brocade will have tiny wrinkles.
Ironing will stretch the brocade back out and smooth out most of the wrinkles. Iron on hot and move quickly, in a polishing motion, while stretching the fabric. Misting the fabric with water helps.
